Showcase display table
It's not every day you get the chance to design and create something to display a rather beautiful and valuable piece of sculpture! The owners of this exquisite bronze Eagle by Geoffrey Dashwood felt it deserved something a little special to rest upon.
A lengthy discussion and a peruse of their other pieces allowed me to come up with a contemporary design with a natural theme. Something that looked fitting but didnt overshadow the original artwork.
The design needed to be sturdy enough to take the weight of the artwork, but delicate and minimal enough not to take the attention away from it. The matt black powder coat finish will allow the sculpture to sit majestically and securely and be a real focal point. It now sits elegantly overlooking the Dart Estuary from its prime location.

Matching Log Stands
The client approached me to design and make two matching log stands for their huge barn conversion.
I had made several pieces for this client over previous years, so by now had a good understanding of the kind of space they wanted to create and what they like to put into that space.
I knew they were avid art collectors with a particular love for Mondrian and Modernism as well as classical styles. The space oozed opulent minimalism, so these were designed to bring a note of quiet detail to an otherwise minimal space. These bold, linear mondrian-esque log stands, using plate steel for the in-fills, were an instant hit with the client.

Garden Sculpture
The discerning owners of this incredible bauhaus inspired eco-home approached me to create a simple freestanding frame for a climbing rose. After some discussion about the journey of the incredbile house, I suggested we pay homage to the inspiration of the build by including basic shape elements so lauded by the groundbreaking design revolution.
They loved the Hausbird characters I create too - so they asked for a set to be included to represent their family unit. I thought was such a cute idea, softening the often hard edges of the modernist aesthetic. It made this commission even more special. A total joy to work on!

Quirky Storage Solution
I know what you are thinking...."What on earth is that?" So let me enlighten you...
This London client was struggling for space in their compact but super-stylish Camden pad. They had a tiny kitchen which also had a pretty pointless understair recess which was too small to access due to the sloping, low ceiling. They wanted to free up storage space in the kitchen, so i designed this roll-in/out mobile larder unit. It turned the impractical, unuseable space into a stylish addition to the room. I bumped into them in London by chance recently...it is still going strong after 3 years!

For all their beautiful things!
Imagine the most contemporary, airy, stylish apartment being filled with design classics from the likes of Eames, Le Corbusier to name a few. I was so thrilled to receive a commission from this client, knowing that my work would sit amongst some of my all-time favourite original pieces. I really was honoured to fulfil this commission.
For the client I created this modern display unit, which would enable them to showcase some of their beautiful objects they have curated over the years.
The 160cm high x 100cm wide piece was entirely hand-made - every piece of steel cut individually to create the vision I had buzzing around in my head. The design is intended to stand alone as a strking piece of design in itself, whilst at the same time not overshadowing any of the beautiful objects it was intended to display.
I'm still very proud of this piece, and plan to create something in a similar style for my own home when I have the time.

Bespoke House Signage
I've had the pleasure to design and produce numerous house signs for some stunning properties. Cut in various metals, the possibilities to really announce your home are really quite staggering.
Always sophisticatedly minimal and carefully designed to suit your architecture style and decoration taste. This is a skill I pride myself on and comes from my appreciaton and knowledge of design history.
The final chosen design is produced using your choice of corten, mild or stainless steel on a plasma cutting machine.
If your place needs to shout a little louder, why not let me help you with that?

Heritage Hearth Fender
This grand hearth fender was designed and handmade to measure using old iron railings that surrounded this Shropshire country estate 150 years ago.
Using a mixture of new and very old steel, ageing processes were applied to create harmony in the piece.
The client was ovrjoyed with the result. Their idea to repurpose an old tapestry rug to create the pads was sheer genius on my clients part. This is the third piece I've created for them. To be able to understand and your clients taste and influences is someting I take great pride in.

Restaurant commission
The much-loved Cowshed Restaurant outgrew its old premises after 15 succesful years and moved to a much bigger space, which also had a private dining room.
I was asked if I could create a 2m diameter round table for their showcase dining suite and the challenge was on.
Two weeks later, just in time for the grand opening, I delivered this colossus! 10cm thick steel leg set, supporting a reclaimed wood top, dowelled and fixed into a circular steel ring. Solid as a rock.
It is standing the test of time well I'm told! Apparently they receive many comments from diners about the table...i think i'ts always nice to spark a conversation!
